But we know men like Noah
Are composed of sterner stuff.
Instead he blew a trumpet,
And then wearing full regalia,
Personally ushered the marsupials to Australia!
At least—that's how the story goes,
And yet I've always wondered,
If, when God first spoke to Noah,
While the heavens thundered,
Saying, "Noah, do this task,
I swear you won't regret it!"
I wonder if he laughed,
And walked away,
And said, "Forget it."
